Bayer and Netafim Collaborate to Revolutionise Digital Farming for Fruit and Vegetable Growers

Bayer

Orbia’s Precision Agriculture business, Netafim, has partnered with Bayer to launch innovative digital farming solutions aimed at helping fruit and vegetable growers optimise their operations and embrace sustainability.

This expansion leverages cutting-edge technology to maximise crop yields while minimising environmental impact. Despite growing interest in digital tools, current solutions often fail to address growers’ challenges holistically. Many find themselves juggling multiple software platforms, leading to inefficiencies and added complexity.

To tackle this issue, Bayer has introduced HortiView, a new digital platform designed to simplify data collection and sharing in horticulture. HortiView creates an interconnected ecosystem of agronomic services, enabling growers to make data-driven decisions and access global markets more effectively.

In tandem, Orbia Netafim has integrated its advanced irrigation insights into the HortiView platform. By using grower-provided data, these tailored recommendations enhance irrigation precision and resource efficiency. The collaboration also includes Orbia Netafim’s GrowSphere, an all-in-one irrigation operating system that combines optimised irrigation, fertigation, and crop protection tools, further streamlining grower operations.

Some grower advisors are already testing these solutions, offering valuable feedback for wider implementation in the near future.

Ofer Oveed, Senior Vice President of Technology and Crops at Orbia Precision Agriculture (Netafim), celebrated the partnership’s potential to reshape sustainable agriculture. “By leading the digital farming revolution together, we can deliver food security through sustainable agriculture,” Oveed stated.

This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the digital transformation of horticulture, paving the way for a future where technology and sustainability go hand in hand.
