Barcelona-based agritech innovator HEMAV has announced a successful €8 million funding round, led by sustainability-focused investors Future Food Fund, PureTerra Ventures, and Inclimo. The investment will power advancements in HEMAV’s cutting-edge SaaS platform, LAYERS, which is designed to help farmers maximise productivity while minimising costs and environmental impact.
LAYERS leverages artificial intelligence to deliver actionable insights, enabling agriculturalists to make smarter, data-driven decisions. The platform focuses on optimising yields, reducing input costs, and improving resource efficiency—a combination that aligns with the growing global demand for sustainable farming solutions.
HEMAV’s impact has been impressive. In 2024 alone, the company expanded its reach to 24 countries and digitised 9.2 million hectares of farmland, empowering farmers worldwide to grow more food with fewer inputs.
“As we look to 2025 and beyond, we remain steadfast in our mission to deliver groundbreaking AI-powered tools that foster security in global food supplies and promote sustainable practices, ensuring a healthy and prosperous environment for future generations,” said Xavier Silva, CEO of HEMAV.
With this fresh injection of capital, HEMAV is poised to drive further innovation in agritech, playing a pivotal role in shaping a more sustainable and secure future for agriculture.
